About the Council

The Mayor and Council Members are elected at large and serve four-year staggered terms so that one-half of the Members of Council shall be elected every two years.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Formulate legislative policies through enactment of ordinances and resolutions.
2. Provide for the creation and direction of all departments, offices and agencies of the town.
3. Appoint and suspend or remove all municipal employees and appointive administrative officers.
4. Adopt annually, prior to the beginning of the fiscal year, operating and capital budgets.

Regular Meetings & Work Sessions

The Town Council holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm and Work Sessions on the third Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at Town Hall. Holidays and other events may affect the meeting schedule.
